Have 3 QBs accounts and bank links are only downloading 1/2 of the year for all companies.  3 different accounts - same problem - 3 different banks.

Bank link only downloading 1/2 of the transactions for year or 3 accounts different bank

Hi there, @JH4949.

I understand how frustrating it can be when only half of your transactions are downloaded in QuickBooks Online. I'm here to offer some suggestions that may help resolve this issue.

When using QuickBooks Online, the bank feed feature automatically downloads your bank and credit card transactions, saving time updating your bank feeds.

Since you mentioned that only half of the transactions are being downloaded, this could be due to several reasons, such as the bank's limitations on the number of transactions that can be downloaded or the transaction's date range. Some banks only allow users to download the last 90 days of transactions, and some can download 24 months' worth of transactions. With this, you can check with your bank to understand their specific policies and limitations on transaction downloads.

In the meantime, you can refresh or update your bank account connected to QuickBooks. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select Update.

Also, you can consider manually uploading the older transactions into the program. First, you'll have to get the transactions from your bank into a CSV file. Then, make sure that it's in the correct format. Once done, here's the step to import them in the program:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the blue tile for the bank account where you want to upload the transactions.
  3. Click the Link account dropdown, then select Upload from file.
  4. Select Drag and drop or select files and click the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Continue.
  5. From the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account and click Continue.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to match the columns on the file with the correct field in QBO. Then, click Continue.
  7. Choose the transactions you'd like to import and select Continue.
  8. Select Yes, then Done.

Additionally, you can categorize your bank transactions to ensure that your transactions are organized and accurate for future reference and financial reporting.

Once you've matched and reviewed everything, you can reconcile your account to ensure your records align and accurate with your statements.

If you continue to experience difficulties or have other concerns with managing your bank transactions, please don't hesitate to reach us for further assistance. We're always available to help you with any issues you may encounter. Have a great day!

Another option, you can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.
