It’s great to see you in the Community, dmdcomply.

Yes, you can upload old bank statements to reconcile. When connecting your account for the first time, QuickBooks downloads the last 90 days of transactions.

If you need more than 90 days’ worth of transactions, upload them into QuickBooks via the WebConnect feature. Please know we currently support the following file formats:

  • Comma-Separated Values (CSV)
  • Quicken (QFX)
  • QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Microsoft Money (OFX)

To add the bank statements, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Banking menu on the left panel to select Banking.
  2. Click on the drop-down for Update to select File Upload.
  3. On the Upload file page, click on the Browse button and locate the file you’re working on.
  4. Select Open and click Next.
  5. On the Map CSV columns page, make sure to match the account field to a QuickBooks field.
  6. On the CSV transactions for import page, select the data you want to import.
  7. Click on Next and Let's go!

Check out the Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online article for more information. It provides an overview of how to download entries from your bank and then upload them to QBO.

Keep in touch if you have other concerns or questions. I’ll be right here to answer them for you. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Hello! I am trying to upload bank statements in the Online version. There is not a drop-down link on the Update field. I am looking for an upload button, but not seeing one. Help? :)

Trying to manually upload old bank statements that did not transfer from bank. Thank you!

Thank you for posting here in the Community, ccash70.

I'm happy to guide you today so you'll be able to manually upload bank statements in QuickBooks Online.

Before you can upload your bank, make sure the data is in the correct format. This format has a Date, Description, and Amount Column. Once your file is formatted correctly, you can upload them into QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

If your account's connecting to online banking.

1. Go to the Banking menu on the left panel. Then, select the Banking tab.

2. Select the account you want to upload the transactions into.

3. Click the Link account dropdown and select Upload from file.

4. Browse for the file that you saved earlier.

5. Follow the prompts to upload the transactions.

If your account isn't connected to Online Banking.

1. Go to the Banking menu on the left panel. Then, select the Banking tab.

2. Select Upload transactions.

3. Browse for the file that you saved earlier

4. Follow the prompts to upload the transactions.

NOTE: You may not have an account to upload if you're new to QuickBooks. Select Add New to create a new bank account.

Once your file has been uploaded, you'll be all ready to categorize or match with transactions you've already entered into QuickBooks. For a more detailed step-by-step guide, please refer to the article below:

Uploading those remaining older transactions is an easy process. I know you'll have them categorized in no time! Have a great day!
