Can QuickBooks track the purchase and sale of equities like stocks, ETF in Fidelity, TD Ameritrade etc.? I tried to find this information and all I saw was that we manually have to write lines in the balance sheet. Many thanks in advance.
No, QB cannot track your investment accounts outside of what you manually enter. If your Fidelity account comes with an actual checking account you can connect it but that is the extent of it. Your online Fidelity account does a much better job, and will usually report your basis for gain purposes.
And , even if the equities are owned by the business, which is rare, only your initial basis ever appears on your business balance sheet. Daily or even annual change in value of equities or even hard real estate assets never change on the balance sheet unless hard money is added
Hello I saw the answer, but assuming that I will enter any changes or fluctuations on the equities (stocks, ETF, e-Trade, etc, how can I setup the right Account to manage this (manually?) The idea es:
We are a small Corp-S and would like to use the company to buy some stocks and ETF, and track all inside our Quickbooks.
Thanks!

Did you ever get an answer to this?
