Download Deposit Does Not Match

I have a reconciliation that does not match. The unmatched amount is the same as a deposit download, which is incorrect according to the bank statement. When I add funds to bring the download amount to what the bank reconciliation has, it throws off the reconciliation again. Is there a way to change the amount of a downloaded deposit?

Download Deposit Does Not Match

Dealing with mismatches in reconciliation, especially when things are out of sync, can be challenging @GCAME. I'm here to assist you in resolving this matter.

When there's a transaction that doesn't match during the reconciliation process, this can be due to discrepancies or differences in the input information between the amounts recorded in QBO and those on your bank statement or in downloaded entries. To resolve this, it is best to verify that both records accurately reflect the same information for the specific transaction.

To match your bank statement, you can manually edit the transaction in QuickBooks by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to Transactions, and select Bank transactions.
  3. Choose the relevant bank account, and select For Review tab.
  4. Locate the the downloaded deposit that's causing the mismatch.
  5. If the transaction is matched with an incorrect deposit, unmatch it by clicking the Undo button from the Categorized tab. Then, select Find match to locate the correct deposit or manually edit the transaction to reflect the correct amount as per your bank statement.

Once the transaction amount matches your bank records, you can proceed to your reconciliation process to ensure everything is balanced.
