I can download the file but when I activate it, it shuts down QB every time. Is Truist working on fixing this bug?
Hi there, JWSmith. Let me share with you some insights on why QuickBooks crashes while working with banking entries.
The issue you're getting is maybe affected by the file incompatibility issues between the early versions of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac and macOS Catalina. This caused the program not to load or crash.
To isolate the issue, you can uninstall and reinstall QuickBooks to improve its functionality. Before we start, you need to make sure the system is updated to its latest release and back up your file so you can restore it when needed.
In case you're using the CD to install the product, ensure you have it handy along with your license numbers.
Once ready, follow these steps to uninstall:
After that, reinstall the latest version. Here's how:
You can verify the update by pressing the Cmd+1.
If you're getting the same result, you can do a clean install process. This refreshes QuickBooks with the installation files that were left behind during the re-installation process. For the detailed steps, kindly refer to this article: Reinstall QuickBooks for Mac using a clean install.

So, I need to do all of this stuff that I have never had to do before and am very uncomfortable doing because, Suntrust became Truist and messed everything up that was already working just fine? Someone else has made this not work and I get to fix it. Great. Maybe it's time to find a new bank.
My MacBook uses Monterey 12.2.1
I use QB version 18.0.13 R14
Build 3468
I did all this and it still crashes.
Thanks for sharing an update, @JWSmith.
Are you getting an error message when trying to import transactions? A crash when importing a QBO file usually means there's invalid formatting.
I'd suggest reporting this to your bank so that they can fix this. Otherwise, you'll have to edit the file every time you download a new one. You can also refer to this article for more info: Fix Web Connect import errors.
Once everything is fine, you can review and categorize your transactions.

No error message. QB just shuts off.
Thanks for your prompt reply, @JWSmith.
Currently, we have an ongoing investigation (INV-37582) about getting a Crash Catcher error when importing a QBO file. I recommend contacting our Customer Care Support team so that you can be added to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive email updates of the investigation's status and be notified once it's been resolved.
Here's how:
In the meantime, you can edit the QBO file in the notepad. Then, correct the Account Type or any other invalid formatting found.

Well, if I were a computer programmer I would. Thanks.
