Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, rapsfo1. I'll share different steps to ensure you can locate your bank and credit card account, then explain how to merge duplicate accounts in QuickBooks and how to accomplish the method.
If the Bank and Credit Card account is manually created in QuickBooks, you can go to the Chart of Accounts page. Then, customize the section so the Number column appears and you can locate the account numbers from there.
Here's how:
- Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner.
- Choose Chart of Accounts.
- Click the small gear icon above the Action column and make sure the Number is checked.

However, if you mean accounts that are directly connected to QuickBook, the account numbers won't show in the QBO. This is because the program only needs the bank login credential to import your entries. That said, I suggest contacting your Financial Institution to ask the and locate those mentioned numbers.
On the other hand, when you have duplicate accounts and merge this in QBO, this moves all the data into the one you want to keep and removes the duplicate. Keeping your lists clean speeds up your bookkeeping and makes bookkeeping easier.
Please know that merging accounts is permanent and you can't undo this later on. Before performing the process of merging, I suggest making sure you’re in Accountant's view. You can open this article to see extra details and how to perform the process: Merge duplicate accounts, customers, and vendors in QuickBooks Online.
Lastly, you may refer to this article to see steps on how you can run dozens of reports that will tell you about different aspects of your business, focus on your spending, and parts of each: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
