How can I import specific date range of missing transactions without downloading the bank files? My account is otherwise syncing fine.

My bank had stopped syncing but fixed that issue. I am now missing a few weeks of transactions.

Use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e,g csv2qbo) as a workaround.

Hello there, Heather.

I see the advantage of importing missing transactions directly in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, QuickBooks is dependent on the statement given by your bank. That said, you need to download your missing transactions from your bank website to import them into QBO.

To get transactions from your bank, here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions for how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer.
  3. Check the date range for the download.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.

After downloading, ensure that the file is in the correct format before uploading. Once ready, you can then upload the missing transactions manually. Let me guide you on how:

  1. On your QBO account, go to the Banking tab (Take me there).
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Select the Link account dropdown and then click Upload from file.
  4. Click Drag and drop or select files, then select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then click on Continue.
  5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then select Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
  8. Click Yes.
  9. When you accept your transactions, select Done.

Moreover, I'll also share this article that can serve as your reference if you want to learn how to review and edit your opening balance if you recently added older transactions to your account: Reconcile transactions that are older than your opening balance in QuickBooks Online.
