How can you stop bank update when it is stuck in a loop.

Good morning, @mhockman9111

I appreciate you coming to the Community with your question about the bank update.

To clarify, is it stuck loading when updating in your QuickBooks Online account? If so, can you provide me with a screenshot of the loading page so that I can determine the best solution for your business?

Here's a guide that might come handy in the future: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online

I'll be waiting for your response!

How can you stop bank update when it is stuck in a loop.

I appreciate you performing some troubleshooting steps to rectify this bank update issue, VMarina. Let me assist with this so you can get back to working business.

Since the update continues even after turning off the phone, I would like to know your bank's name to look into this further and check possible open investigations concerning your bank specifically.

Also, let's refresh the app to fix some data issues. You can follow the steps below depending on your phone's operating system.

For the IOS version:

  1. Go to the Menu icon and tap Help & Feedback.
  2. Select Refresh Data.
  3. If you receive a message saying, "Caution: There was a problem retrieving your latest QuickBooks Online data. You can refresh it now. It may take a few minutes."
  4. Tap Refresh to confirm.

For Android:

  1. Go to the Menu icon, then tap More Options ⋮.
  2. Click Settings, then Refresh Data.
  3. Select YES to confirm.

If you get the same result, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Additionally, I suggest opening your account in a web browser and updating your bank. If the issue persists, upload your transactions manually to update your account.

  1. Sign in to your bank's website and export your bank transactions.
  2. In your QBO account, go to the Transactions menu.
  3. Select Bank Transactions.
  4. From the Update drop-down, select File Upload.
  5. Click Browse and select the web-connect file from your bank.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to map the data.

Check this guide for more details: Manually upload transactions.

Furthermore, you can check your financial institution's website for issues by obtaining the URL QuickBooks uses to connect.

  1. From the Transactions menu, select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select Link account.
  3. Look for your bank and click it.
  4. Copy the URL listed for your bank.
  5. Sign in to your bank website using the copied URL.

Once everything is good, you can review and reconcile your transactions to ensure they match your bank and credit card statements. For a detailed process, refer to these resources:
