You can use Payments in QuickBooks Self-Employed. It's a great way to give your customers the ability to pay their invoices online with credit cards.
In QuickBooks Self-Employed, this feature isn't turned on by default. To turn it on so customers can pay their invoices online, click on the Activate payments link on an open invoice. Then, you can see all of your open and completed invoices on the Invoices menu. That is where you can mark them as paid, print them, and send reminders for the overdue ones.
Here are several helpful articles you can check out for more information about Payments:

Hello. I am getting the run around from QuickBooks customer service. I've been using QBSE for 1.5 years and never used the invoicing feature until now. I just registered to accept credit card payments from my clients via invoices and the system rejected me. I have spent over a week chatting 3 separate times with merchant services to fix this. Every time they promise me the problem will be resolved within 24 hours. It's now been over a week and it's still not working. I finally asked them to email me so I could just reply to the email and not waste all the time re-explaining with every chat session. Now they are just ignoring my email. Why can't I get the option to accept credit card payments via my invoices? I don't understand what is going on. Somebody, please help! I pay every month for QB. What am I paying for if I can't use the basic functionality?
I hear your sentiments. And I’m here to help so you’ll be able to accept credit card payments right in your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, Auston.
To accept credit card payments via your invoices, you’ll want to make sure you completely set up your online payments in QuickBooks. Make sure all information is correct and no special characters or spaces on data fields.
You can use an incognito window to set everything up. It prevents browser-related issues so you can activate the feature successfully.
If everything’s correct, I recommend contacting our support once more for follow-up. If need be, our representatives can escalate this issue for you.
You can read this article to learn what to do if customers' credit card payments get declined when you process them: Fix customers' declined credit card payments.
I appreciate your time and patience. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns besides processing credit card payments. I'll be here anytime. Always take care!
