I can certainly understand how adding more than 5 resolving transactions while matching could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.
Here's how:
Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. Feature requests can be tracked through the Customer Feedback website.

Our business gets lump sum payments from processors (e.g. Stripe) and we need more than 5 resolving transactions to account for them properly.
I tried just now and QBO would not let me enter more than 5 resolving transactions. So I take it Intuit hasn't done anything to resolve (as it were) this issue yet.
Is there a work around anyone can suggest? Some way to break down the lump sum into separate transactions first, then match/categorize them?
Appreciate any help anyone can give.
One additional point:
If you are simply "Categorizing" a payment, by pressing "Split" it appears you can add an unlimited number of lines.
However, using "Split" doesn't enable me to to "Match" any inventory sales that are usually included in the lump sum I'm trying to reconcile. (The lump sum usually includes some revenue from inventory sales that need to be matched as well as revenue from other activities.). So "Split" doesn't seem to be a solution.
It seems inconsistent and odd that QBO would allow unlimited additional transactions in "Split" a transaction you are trying to "Categorize" but not to "Resolve" a transaction you are trying to "Match."
Hello there, @KN52. Thanks for reaching out to us.
I appreciate you taking the time to inform us of your efforts to settle your transactions. Because you can't add more than five resolving transactions in QuickBooks Online, it seems that you want to match your transactions after you split them. However, if you split and match them in a one process, you won't be able to resolve the transactions.
You cannot match the transaction if you already split them. I suggest recording the transactions separately so you can match them prior resolving them in QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, you may create rules that will automatically classify transactions for you. Please see this article: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.
If you have any other questions about resolving transactions in QuickBooks Online, please feel free to return to this thread. Serving you is our top priority. We're available 24/7, KN52.
