How do I re-order bank accounts in bank transactions?

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, jPerkins2000.

I can help reorder your bank accounts in QuickBooks Online.

I recommend clicking the Reorder option within the Bank transactions section. This allows you to personalize who is first and last on the list.

Here's how:

  1. Choose the Bank transactions menu.
  2. Click the small drop-down arrow beside the bank.
  3. Select the Reorder accounts hyperlink.
  4. Hit the Pencil icon and drag the bank list.
  5. Click Save.

In case you need steps on how you can disconnect an account from online banking, you can read this article: Disconnect accounts connected to online banking in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you need further assistance in managing your bank accounts in QBO. I’m always here to help, jPerkins2000. Take care!

How do I re-order bank accounts in bank transactions?

All I see under the Bank Transactions tab is a box pitching "Automate income and expense tracking" - no bank accounts are listed.

We appreciate you joining here in the thread, ingenii1.

Let me share information about the Bank transactions tab in QuickBooks Online.

The Automate income and expense tracking box appears when you don't have any bank or credit card transactions and accounts connected to the program. With this, you can either Connect account or Upload transactions.

If you want to use online banking, you can proceed to these steps to automatically download bank transactions:

  1. Click Connect account.
  2. Key in the URL or name of your bank in the Search field.
  3. Select the bank, provide your credentials in the Login and Password fields, then click Continue.
  4. Choose the account you want to connect and the date to pull up the transactions from the dropdown.
  5. Select Next to proceed. Please note that some banks might let you download the last 90 days of transactions, while others can go as far as 24 months.
  6. In the Account type dropdown, pick the appropriate account type that matches your chart of accounts, then Next. You can also click +Add new if you cannot locate the correct account type.

On the other hand, you can select Upload transactions if you want to import your entries into the program manually. After that, you can scroll down to step under Step 4: Manually upload the transactions in this article for further guidance: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, you can refer to the steps provided by my colleague above whenever you want to reorder your bank accounts to meet your business needs.

Furthermore, you can scan these resources for guidance on reviewing your transactions to identify tax deductions and the status of your business finances:

How do I re-order bank accounts in bank transactions?

QB just rearranged all of my bank accounts so I found this thread which is a nightmare to figure out. Bring back desktop as the online version is horrible compared to the desktop version which was a fraction of the cost!

How do I re-order bank accounts in bank transactions?

is there a better way to do this with dozens of accounts?  it is extremely tedious and glitchy when you try to do reoder 40 accounts.   Needs to be a way easier way of doing this.
