How to bring the discrepancy to zero in reconciling the amount.

Hi there, @patricktingling@.

The first thing you need to do is to check the opening and beginning balances.

Here's how to access the opening balance:

  1. Go to Accounting, then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Search the account on the list.
  3. Click View register.
  4. Search for the opening balance entry. It should've "Opening Balance Equity" in the Account column.
  5. Take note of the date and balance.
Reminder: Make sure the opening balance is correct before checking the beginning balance.

I'm going to provide you with the article for the next steps in bringing your balance discrepancy to zero: Fix issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

After performing all the steps given, you can now then check if the balance is zero. If so, you can finish reconciling.

For future reference, if you want to unreconcile an individual transaction from a completed reconciliation, you can read through this article: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.

If you need further assistance with reconciliation, please reply to this post or you can post again in the Community. We'll be willing to help, Keep safe!
