How to delete a reconcile

Good to have you here in the Community, retailneeds. I can help you undo previous reconciliations in QuickBooks Online(QBO).

Deleting a transaction from the reconciled period might affect your previous and future reconciliations. I suggest working on this with your accountant to undo an entire reconciliation without editing individual transactions.

You can invite your accountant to your company so they can delete or undo the previous reconciliations at once. However, if you haven't added an accountant, you can undo reconciled transactions individually. Refer to the steps below.

  1. From the Accounting menu, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the correct account for the transaction and select View Register in the Action column.
  3. Choose the transaction to edit.
  4. In the reconcile status column (indicated by an R ), repeatedly click it to change the status to blank. This is to suggest that it's not cleared or reconciled.
  5. Click Save.

For more details, click this article on how to undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QBO.

To help you if you have trouble reconciling the following month and when you meet with your accountant, you can check out this resource: View, print, or export a reconciliation report.

For additional questions about correcting your reconciliations, you can come back here. We'll be willing to help. Keep safe, and have a good one.
