How to set bank account to show most recent QB entries first. My bank account currently lists QB entries by vendor transaction.

Hi there, khud14.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details on how you can set up your account in QuickBooks Online. Then, ensure you can see the latest transactions.

If you're referring adding your bank or credit card account to QBO and downloading your recent entries, you can directly connect it to the program. This saves time so you don’t have to enter anything manually and all you have to do is approve them.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Bookkeeping menu.
  2. Select Transactions and choose Bank transactions or go to Banking.
  3. If this is the first bank account you’ve set up, select Connect account. Then, choose Link account if you already created one.
  4. In the search field, enter the name of your bank or credit card.
  5. Click Continue. Then, sign in to your bank with your user ID and password.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps. This might include security checks your bank requires.
  7. Select the accounts you want to connect and select the account type ▼dropdown. Choose the account type that matches your chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
  8. Select how far back you want to download transactions. Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions. Others can go back as far as 24 months.
  9. Click Connect.

However, if you mean you don't see recently downloaded bank transactions in QBO and you want to view the latest one, I suggest clicking the Update button in QuickBooks. This way, you're able to refresh the connection of your bank transaction. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to Bookkeeping.
  2. Choose Transactions and Bank transactions.
  3. Click the Update button.

If you are still unable to view the current transactions, you can open this article to see other steps on how to set a bank account to show the most recent entries: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, you may refer to this article on how you can review imported bank and credit card transactions by matching or adding them to avoid double entries: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to leave a message in the comment section if you have additional questions about bank data. I'll be around here in the Community to help. Keep safe, and have a great day, khud14.
