I can't connect to my Target or Kohls credit card. How do I enter transactions manually? Do you know when they will be fixed?

Hi there, andy-triboletti-.

I've got steps to ensure you can connect your Target or Kohls credit card in QuickBooks Online smoothly.

Beforehand, may I know if you received an error message when connecting your Target or Kohls credit card to QuickBooks Online (QBO)? It would help us review our system for any reported issues.

For now, here are the following scenarios why you're unable to connect your bank account:

  • The bank may not be a participating bank.
  • Your bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • The bank is having a system maintenance.
  • Some banks have multiple names on our list. You might want to check and select the correct one or try all possible bank URLs.

I recommend signing in to your bank's website to check if there are issues with your financial institution. This way, you can also verify if there are notifications from your bank that need attention that might cause you to be unable to connect your bank account to the program.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu on the left panel.
  2. Select Link account. Note: You won’t add an account, you just need the listed URL.
  3. Search for your bank and select it. Then, copy the URL listed for your bank.
  4. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website using the copied URL.

After that, if you can sign in, it's a good signal that there isn't a major issue. Then, review the following details below to check any messages.

  1. Check your account for messages, notifications, or alerts.
  2. Look for any display issues as you navigate the website. These can block QuickBooks from connecting with your bank.
  3. Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

If everything is good from your bank's side, make sure to select the correct bank name when connecting your Target or Kohls credit card to QBO.

If the issue persists, you have to manually import your credit card transactions into QuickBooks. Once you can already connect your bank and transactions are downloaded, make sure to exclude all duplicate transactions to keep your data accurate.

On the other hand, you can refer to this article on how you can manually enter transactions into the program: Manually add transactions to account registers in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, you may read this article if you need steps on how to review downloaded credit card entries by matching or adding them to avoid duplicate transactions: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to click the Reply button below and add extra information about your concern, as I want to make sure this is resolved, andy-triboletti-. I'll be more than glad to share additional insights and assistance whenever you need it. Take care.

@andy-triboletti-

You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.
