I frequently have transactions with Printify.com. Quickbooks keeps auto-renaming the vendor as “Sprint” and setting the category as Utility because the transactions show up as HTTPSPRINTIFYDE in my statements. How do I stop Quickbooks from doing this?

Hello there, @user01645

Thanks for your first post. As an insight, the details of the transactions downloaded from the bank rely on what your bank shares with QBSE.

At the moment, the option to turn off the renaming feature in QuickBooks Self-Employedis unavailable. I'll take this as a good suggestion and I'll share this with our developers. That way, they may consider this option in our future updates.

As a workaround, you can create a rule to enter a description. Let me share these steps with you so you can set them up:

  1. Go to the Settings menu on the right-hand side, then select Rules under the Transactions section.
  2. Click Create rule.
  3. Enter the entire description in the Description field.
  4. Select the correct Account (bank) and Type (business or personal).
  5. Click Save

For future reference, here are some of our useful articles with the steps to guide you on what you can do about downloaded banking transactions:

Hi user01645,

Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about the banking transactions you had yesterday. Was it resolved?

Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at any time.

Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!

Hello. The workaround doesn't do anything. My transactions that have the description "PRINTIFY.COM HTTPSPRINTIFYDE" still automatically show up as "Sprint". For some reason the category is now automatically "Materials & Supplies". So I still have to manually correct the name and category. This is quite an issue for me because this transaction type occurs every time someone orders something from my online shop. Unless I just accept that these transactions will be incorrectly labeled as "Sprint". I hope there will be a solution soon.

Hello there, user01645.

I appreciate following the workaround steps shared by my colleague and letting us know the result. Let me point you in the right direction to resolve the issue.

The data we receive depends on what your third party shares with us. Since the transactions category shows a different one, I recommend contacting the app's customer support.

They’ll review the mapping of the entries before sending them to QBO. Doing so ensures the data will show the correct name and category.

To help and guide on how to perform any process in QBSE, click here to access our self-help resources. They’re grouped by topics so you’ll be able to view each one with ease.

Stay in touch if you have other concerns or questions about QBSE. I’ll be around to answer them for you. Have a  good one.
