I have changed banks. How do I change the register to default to the new bank?

I have the same question, but I do not understand what "ADDITIONAL" information you would need?

The issue is that when I hit CTR+R, a window opens up for me to choose what register I want to use while showing a "default" register (automatically showing). This "default" register name is where I want to change it to something different. How is that done? I went into EDIT/PREFERENCES/CHECKING, but nothing about registers.

Thanks for adding your concern to this forum, @ww_94. The additional information we're referring to here is a screenshot of your register. That way, we can take a closer look at the issue and help you fix it.

Additionally, the account that will show in the drop-down list from your register depends on what's first on the list. 

To show the bank account you want to use as default, you'll want to drag the diamond buttons on the side to sort your account list. Please know that only bank accounts will appear on the list. See this screenshot below:
