I have connected a bank account, but can only see in Chart of Accounts, not in Banking? Any help is appreciated.

Help has arrived, chris@optionalth. I'll make sure that you'll be able to connect your bank account on the Banking page in QuickBooks Online.

The banks that appear on the Banking page are the accounts connected. Even if they aren't connected, they will show up in the Banking menu if you import the transaction.

Otherwise, it will appear in the Chart of Accounts if your account isn’t connected or doesn’t have uploaded files. However, we can fix this by connecting your bank account from your chart of accounts.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Chart of accounts.
  2. Find the account you want to connect to.
  3. In the Action column, select the View register ▼ dropdown. Then select Connect bank.
  4. Select the accounts you want to connect, then select the account type ▼dropdown. Choose the account type that matches your chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
  5. Select how far back you want to download transactions.
  6. Click Connect.

For further details about connecting a bank and credit card accounts to QBO, feel free to check out this link. It includes steps on how to refresh your bank feed to download your latest transactions.

In addition, here are a few extra articles that can help you along the way in managing your transactions:

I’m always ready to assist you if you have any other questions or concerns about managing your accounts in QBO. Tag me in your reply and I’ll sprint back into action. Have a good one and keep safe.

I have connected a bank account, but can only see in Chart of Accounts, not in Banking? Any help is appreciated.

I appreciate the information, however, let me be a bit more detailed.

I have 3 bank accounts.

In Chart of Accounts I can see all 3.  And only 2 are linked.

In Banking, I can only see 2 of the 3.

I've connected, un-connected and connected several times as well as removed all history, cookies, caches, etc.  Nobody seems to have an answer for this.  Thanks,

I have connected a bank account, but can only see in Chart of Accounts, not in Banking? Any help is appreciated.

I appreciate that option and have unfortunately tried them several times, but they don't know what to do.  Ugh!

So, here is my question:  Could it be that since one of the accounts is connected to my online store, that it's not supposed to show up in Banking?  It shows up in App Transactions.  Hope this helps clarify my concerns.
Thanks,

Hi there, @kusndc.

Thanks for joining this thread. I've got some steps to isolate the issue. I want to ensure you can view your bank transactions and manage everything in one place.

When you connect your account or upload transactions manually, your bank will appear on the Banking page. From there, you can categorize and add your entries to QuickBooks.

If you've done either of them but are yet unable to find your bank on the said page, it can be due to outdated or corrupt cache files in your web browser. Let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it doesn't show, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser so you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. Alternatively, you may use a different supported one. You may also consider linking your bank or downloading your transactions again.

Visit me here again in the Community and keep me posted on how these steps work out for you. I'm determined to help you succeed. I'm also here if you need further assistance managing your bank feeds.

I tried using a different supported browser and it still didn't work. Tried it also using my mobile app and it still didn't show up.

Hello, DiCirrus.

I know it hasn't been easy for you not to see all your bank accounts linked to online banking on the Banking page. I'll ask more information so I can identify and provide correct solution in fixing it.

There are two methods for linking a bank account to online banking. You can do this through the Banking page or the Chart of Accounts (COA) page. Could you please tell me which option you used to connect your bank account to online banking?

Can you also share a screenshot of your COA and Banking page? It's possible that the connection failed, or you linked the other bank account to an online store, which will show up in the App transactions tab. You might have also created a new account rather than linking an existing bank account on the Chart of accounts.

As a workaround, you can upload your transaction manually without connecting it to online banking. Once the transactions are successfully uploaded, the bank account will appear in the banking page.

After you've downloaded your transactions, you can review and categorize them to ensure they are in the correct accounts.

I'll keep an eye on your respond, don't hesitate to add any details below. Have a great day.

I have connected a bank account, but can only see in Chart of Accounts, not in Banking? Any help is appreciated.

After I click "Link Account" and I login to my client's bank account, I see the account I want here, circled in red. but after I click "Connect" and QB is supposed to list the account that I checked, I don't see it the red circled anymore. It's not any one of these accounts in the 2nd screenshot. I called Tech support again and they couldn't figure out. This so disappointing since the banking feature is why I switched to QB online.

Hey there, @Imlost1

I see that you're still having trouble with connected accounts not showing up on the Banking page. To help you out, could you send me screenshots of the affected accounts in the Chart of Accounts, Banking page, and Apps menu?

That way, I can figure out what's causing the issue and give you the right troubleshooting steps.

If you have any other details to share, feel free to add them to this thread. I'm here to help, so don't hesitate to ask.

I have connected a bank account, but can only see in Chart of Accounts, not in Banking? Any help is appreciated.

So do we have a solution yet?  I am having the same issue, when i try to link my bank account the account does not appear on the banking screen chart of accounts. So there is no way to sync to the bank account already created in QBO.  Since I have been importing my bank data this account does appear on the dashboard in my QBO.

On the banking sync screen I have the option of creating a new cash account and then the bank sync works but since this bank account is already in my chart of accounts I do not want to create a new account, I need it to sync back to my old cash account.  How do I this bank account to appear in the banking sync screen?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently on the phone with Customer Support Team. They are as confused as we all are here. I have been on the phone now for 45 minutes. This post was originated over a year ago with multiple people identifying the same problem. What is the solution? It's clearly not to call Customer Support.
