I have my business checking linked to QB and it appears that nearly an entire month of transactions is missing from my bank register in QB - where did they go?

I appreciate you for sharing the details of your concern, ARTNOVA. Let me provide some steps to help you find it on your account register.

 

All of your categorized transactions should be stored in the program and will be displayed in your account's register. Let's start by reviewing if you have successfully categorized them. Here's how

 

  1. Go to the Banking menu and choose the Banking tab.
  2. Select your bank account, then go to the Categorized tab.
  3. Review if you have successfully categorized them to ensure they appear in your account's register.

Furthermore, you'll want to double-check the filters from your accounts register to see if they are selected correctly to locate the transactions. Follow the steps below to proceed:

 

  1. Go to Settings and select Chart of accounts.
  2. Find the account you want to review. Then, tap View register in the Action column.
  3. Tap the Filter icon, then select the filters you want to apply. You can search by amount, reference number, or memo in the Find field. Then, click Apply.
  4. You can also try to select the X next to the filter name to remove a filter or clear all filters by clicking Clear filter / View All.

 

Another option is to use the audit log in QuickBooks Online to see if someone made changes and what they did inside your account.

 

However, if the issue persists, I suggest logging into your account through a private/incognito window if you haven't tried it. The private window will not save any history, making it a good place to identify browser problems. Here's how:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

 

If you're able to see it in your register using a private browser, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.
