I need to un-reconcile my bank account

Hey there, aojacoby.

The QuickBooks Community has your back. You will have to manually unreconcile each transaction on your register, here’s how to do that:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Look for the account and click View Register.
  4. Select the transaction.
  5. Change the R (reconciled) transaction to blank.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Choose Yes.

If you have an accountant, I'd be better to get in touch with them for guidance. Also, you can check this article for more information:

I need to un-reconcile my bank account

After I manually change each transaction, what will happen to the starting balance?

I need to un-reconcile my bank account

Good day! I appreciate you for joining this thread.

Let me help you sort things up. If you mean by Starting balance is the Opening balance, nothing will change even after you manually undo the reconciliation of each transaction. However, if you notice unnecessary changes in the balance, you can edit the opening balance.

You might want to ensure that your QuickBooks balance and real-life bank and credit card statements are in sync or fix reconciliation, feel free to read this article: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

The Community is always here to lend a hand. You can reply to this thread if you need help in managing your bank transactions in QBO. Have a blissful week!
