@jamiebuttke-yaho Are you referring to tracking a personal bank account and a business bank account, or actually having a separate QBO account for your personal transactions?
If the first, just create another bank account called 'Personal checking'. That said, mixing your personal and business transactions in one account is rarely ever a good idea.
If the second, just give QB more money. They'll gladly hook you up with a second QBO account... for another monthly fee.
Your initiative to organize your finances by keeping personal and business accounts separate is commendable, Jamie. I'm excited to help you achieve your financial aspirations.
While QuickBooks Online (QBO) is mainly for business transactions, it can be customized to meet your personal finance tracking needs. You can create a separate company file for personal finances, customize your accounts, and utilize the Personal account type to keep things organized.
Maintaining a clear separation between personal and business finances is crucial for accurate record-keeping, especially for taxes and accounting. If you prefer to track these accounts in a single QBO account, I suggest utilizing the Class or Location feature. This functionality allows you to categorize your transactions, making it possible to generate reports that reflect your personal or business finances.
If you're looking for dedicated personal finance tracking software, I recommend trying Mint, a free app from Intuit. Mint allows you to review transactions, monitor spending, and track your net worth, making it a tool for personal finance management.
