Thank you so much for the information. Just to confirm, there is no way to import without using an outside importer tool? Once I have the information in the proper format how do I upload it to Quickbooks?
You're always welcome, @MariaMager. I'd like to share some insights about importing bills/checks to QuickBooks Online.
The option to import bills using a CSV file is currently unavailable in QBO. You'll want to browse through the Intuit Marketplace and look for an available third-party importer tool that you can integrate with QuickBooks.
You can filter the list by entering the word "import" into the website's search bar. Also, we have a separate forum called Intuit Developers where you may get assistance if you need it with app suggestions and integrations. You may find and interact with professional developers on this website.
They can offer real-time advice on the best tools for you and assist with app choices.
On the other hand, you can import checks into QBO by using a CSV file. Simply ask your bank for the file, and then manually upload it to QuickBooks.
If you're all good, feel free to read this handy article to know more about handling downloaded transactions in QBO: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Keep in touch so we can help your further with importing or with QuickBooks in particular. Take the best care!
Thank you!
If I upgrade my QuickBooks subscription would I be able to do an import of a list of checks from Excel?
Thanks for getting back with the Community, MariaMager.
I can certainly understand how an ability to import checks with an Excel file could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.
Here's how:
Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.
For the time being, you can do as Mich_S suggested and review our QuickBooks App Store for apps which may be able to help you import checks using Excel files.
I've also included a detailed resource about importing data into QuickBooks which may come in handy moving forward: Common questions about importing data
I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you!! This was the most helpful set of instructions I found
