Importing Credit Card Transactions

Hi there, Rjpadilla.

I'll provide insights on how downloading data works using Web connect in QuickBooks Desktop. This way, I'll ensure you can organize your bank or credit card transactions smoothly.

Please note that once you download a file (.QBO) from your bank or credit card using Web Connect, you have the option to choose either Use a QuickBooks account that exists or Create a new QuickBooks account. With this, if the account you're importing transactions into is already set up in QuickBooks, choose the first one. However, if the account you're importing entries into isn't in QuickBooks yet, you need to create or add a new account within the program.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu at the top and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. In the Account dropdown arrow, select New.
  3. Choose an account type, then select Continue.
  4. Complete the account details.
  5. Click Save & Close.

You can refer to this article to see additional details or as a reference: Add, edit, or delete accounts in QuickBooks Desktop.

If the account still does not display after following the instructions above or selecting the options given, I recommend referring to this article. Fix Web Connect import errors. This provides troubleshooting instructions for resolving import issues and effectively uploading data via Web connect.

In case you need guidelines on how to review your imported entries by matching or adding them to avoid duplicate data, you can read this artilcle: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please keep in touch with me here should you need any further assistance with uploading your bank data in QuickBooks. I'll make sure to assist you further, Rjpadilla. Have a great day!
