Hi there, @JENNMCCOY.

You've come to the right place to get the answers you're looking for. It's my pleasure to share the steps to set up the auto-add feature. This way, you can get your transactions accepted automatically into your books.

Bank rules in QuickBooks Online are a marvel and can save data entry time. These instructions will ensure your success in enabling the auto-add feature.

  1. Go to the Banking menu and then Rules.
  2. Find the rule and click the Edit button under the Actions column.
  3. Scroll down and turn on Automatically confirm transactions this rule applies to.
  4. Hit Save.

After that, any transactions on the For Review tab that meet the conditions are added automatically. Otherwise, there may be a matter with your browser. When using one like Google Chrome, it saves information from websites in its cache and cookies. Issues may result due to too much historical data stored in your browser. Clearing them will do the trick.

First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it works, I recommend clearing your browser's cache so you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported browser.

Auto add has not worked for me for months and I am about to move away from Quickbooks entirely.  There are so many bugs with the software it is become so frustrating to use.  I have gone through all the steps outlined here and they still do not Auto add.  I was told this was a known issue that the team is working to fix but like my other issues it has not been fixed and I have not gotten any updates on it.
