Is ythere a spell check feature in quickbooks online

Thanks for coming to the Community for help, @daddyspags.

QuickBooks currently doesn’t have a built-in spell check feature. The system uses the one installed on your browser.

If you’re getting a red line under words that are spelled correctly, this can be caused by the change in the language preference settings. Please follow the steps below to verify.

For Chrome:

  1. Go to the Menu icon and pick Settings.
  2. Tap the Hamburger icon to show the rest of the menu.
  3. Select Languages.
  4. Click on the drop-down arrow under the Language section.
  5. Choose English (United States).
  6. For the Spell check, click the drop-down arrow and select English (United States).

For Internet Explorer:

  1. Open Internet Explorer, then click Tools.
  2. Tap Internet Options.
  3. Select Languages, under the General tab.
  4. Pick Add.
  5. Select the language you’d like to add.
  6. Hit OK.

For Firefox:

  1. Open the browser settings.
  2. Click the Content tab.
  3. Under the Languages heading, choose your preferred language.

For Safari:

  1. Go to System Preferences.
  2. Select Language & Region.
  3. Click Preferred Language and select the language you’d like.

Once you got the right setting, make sure to log out and back in for the program to start fresh.

The spell-check feature is indeed a great idea, @daddyspags.

Let me pass this along to the appropriate department and team members for consideration in the near future. A suggestion like this helps us determine what enhancements and improvements are needed to make our product more effective and convenient to use.

While we continue to make your experience with us even better, I recommend visiting our QuickBooks Online Blog to get the recent news, information about the latest features, and updates.

Know that you can count on me if there's anything else you need. I'm here and ready to help. Have a fantastic day!

I vote for needing spellcheck in the QBO app.  The website doesn't allow me to have multiple companies open so I need to use the app and really need spellcheck.  Please & thanks!

I cant believe there isn't a spellcheck feature built in to quickbooks online! We used it for years with the desktop version and grew so accustomed to it! It should be a no-brainer!

Thanks for becoming part of the Community, MeanieMeena.

I can certainly understand how a spell checking feature could be useful to yourself/other subscribers. My colleague, KhimG, posted a workaround that can be used for the time being and sent a suggestion to our developers on January 8, 2020 about creating one. I've additionally submitted a request about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use your Gear (⚙️) icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Enter your suggestions and/or comments.
  4. Hit Next.
  5. Click Skip and send message.
  6. The available drop-down menu can be used to pick an appropriate category.
  7. Select Send message.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development Team and considered in future updates. Feature requests can be tracked through our Customer Feedback website.

If there's anything else I can help with, please feel welcome to reach out anytime. Have a lovely day!
