Loan Manager

I have entered two new loans in loan manager.  One of them posted perfectly, the other has all the data however the "set up payment" button is not highlighted and there is no next payment showing.  I've gone back through to make sure I entered the orignination date and date of next payment along with amount, etc.  And it's still not giving me the set up payment option.  Anyone know what I may have done wrong?

No, you did great, D Harlan.

There's a possibility that Loan Manager feature needs to be refreshed. Updates might have been added to QuickBooks while you're using it. I'd recommend closing QuickBooks and running it again as Administrator.

  1. Right-click on the QuickBooks icon.
  2. Select Run as Administrator.

After that, we can update QuickBooks to the latest release. This would fix minor issues on your company file.

From there, we can follow Solutions 1 and 2 in this article to get your Loan Manager working: Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector is missing after upgrading QuickBooks Desktop.

Please let me know how this goes so we can further investigate this matter. Have a great day!

I have same problem and followed directions to correct the loan manager set up payment button and it did not fix the issue.  I still do not have that button highlighted.

I have the same issue, however I only have one loan.  I followed your instructions and still do not have the loan manager set up payment button highlighted.

Hi @KishaK,

I'll take care of this query for you.

If you've done the steps provided by the QuickBooks Loan Manager article, as well as the troubleshooting steps shared by my peer @JamesDuanT, then I suggest you contact our Technical Support team if you have the same issue. They can investigate why you have this issue, as well as provide a resolution for it.

Here's how:

  1. On your QuickBooks homepage, go to the Help menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Tap the Contact us button.

If you want to record and track your loan by hand, take a look at this article: Manually track loans in QuickBooks Desktop. It has two sets of steps, one for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows and another for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Post a comment below if you need further help, and I'll be happy to assist.
