My bank changed names (also routing/account numbers)

My bank changed names, account number, and routing number, but everything in the account has remained the same.  I cannot figure out how to link it to the same account on quickbooks desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My bank changed names (also routing/account numbers)

You've come to the right place for assistance, JELLC5. Accurate bank information is crucial for seamless operations in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Let's work together to update your financial institution's name, routing number, and account number.

The name, account number, and routing digits are essential for QB to connect to the correct bank account when online services are activated. Once done, these cannot be changed. However, if there are changes to this data, we can disconnect the Bank Feeds for this account and then reconnect with the updated details.

Please note that QB won't let you unlink an account if it has transactions left for review. You'll need to categorize them first.

Here's a step-by-step process for making your modifications:

  1. Go to Lists and choose Chart of Accounts.

  2. Locate the connected bank account, then right-click on it.
  3. Select Edit account.

  4. Click the Bank Feed Settings tab.
  5. Tick Deactivate All Online Services and hit Save & Close.

Then, link the account using its new information. Refer to the steps below:

  1. Go to Banking and select Bank Feeds.
  2. Choose Set Up Bank Feeds for an Account.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect again.

Ensuring you can modify your updated bank details is my priority, JELLC5. Know that you can always count on me for support and resolutions. Have a great day ahead!
