My QBO Bank Feed is stuck on/won't stop updating - ACTUAL ANSWER

Hey everyone,

Just to be clear, I'm not asking this question - I have an actual answer to this problem that's simple & really works:

When the bank transactions feed is stuck in a perpetual loop of updating, simply re-order the position of your accounts.  It can be as simple as changing the position of just 1 account.  Doing this refreshes them & allows you to update things properly.  You can then re-order them back to how they were originally.

Hope this helps!

My QBO Bank Feed is stuck on/won't stop updating - ACTUAL ANSWER

That works yes. But as soon as I click on another bank account, it goes back to the updating loop. I have to think this is a QuickBooks application issue. Any ideas?

If it keeps doing that, then yes it is a QBO thing.  All you can do is wait for it to finish updating or contact tech support directly if the issue persists.

It could also be that there's an issue with the bank account you're connected to, but generally it will say if that's the case.

In any case, you may need to come back to it later.  Sometimes that's what I have to do myself.

My QBO Bank Feed is stuck on/won't stop updating - ACTUAL ANSWER

I appreciate you joining this thread, @VMarina. Let's fix this so you can continue with regular activities, especially banking transactions, in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The issue you are experiencing is caused by data issues in your browser. I agree with @jrhrealanswers that if the updates won't stop, it's because of QBO application issues. To confirm, you can access your account using a private browser, which disregards website cookies, and doesn’t save any browsing history or data.

  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N

If this works, return to your regular browser and clear its cache and cookies to refresh website preferences that may be causing problems when using QuickBooks Online. Otherwise, you use a supported browser.

Furthermore, I've included these helpful articles to assist you in effectively categorizing transactions in QBO and ensuring that your accounts consistently align with your bank and credit card statements.

Please know that I'm post away if you need further assistance with managing your bank transactions in QBO.  Don't hesitate to reach out. Stay safe.
