I recently replaced a person that had our checking accounts connected to our bank. Since she left, her bank login etc was deleted, and now the accounts no longer sync. When I try to link under my user credentials, it creates entirely new accounts in QB. How do I get the original accounts to relink?
I can help you with relinking the bank accounts, @CHRIS54554. I will give you some instructions and guide you through the process.
Once you disconnect your checking accounts, they'll no longer be visible on the Banking page. However, you can still choose to reactivate them. To do so, go to your Chart of Accounts and reconnect them using the following steps:
1. Open the Accounting menu or the Gear icon.
2. Go to the Chart of Accounts.
3. Locate the account and click on the Action drop-down.
4. In the Action column, tick the View register ▼ dropdown. Then tap Connect bank.
4. Enter the URL or name of your bank in the Search field, then choose the bank.
Note: If you can’t find your bank, you can manually upload transactions instead.
5. Type in your Sign info in the Login and Password fields, then click on Continue.
6. Select the account that you want to connect and date to pull transactions from the dropdown ▼. Then, tick Next.
Note: Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions. Others can go back as far as 24 months.
7. Pick your account type on the Account type ▼ dropdown, then tap Next.
Note: Choose the account type that matches your chart of accounts in QuickBooks. If you don’t see the correct account type, hit +Add new.

I have done this multiple times, and it just keeps adding duplicate accounts instead of re-connecting the existing.
Hello there! Thank you for returning to the Community thread, CHRIS54554. We appreciate your efforts in resolving your concern and understand the potential for runtime issues to interfere with your business's daily operations.
If this is the company's bank account, I advise you to reach out to the person who manages the login details and request a copy so you can link it to QuickBooks Online. If you knew, but the issue persists, it would be best to contact our Live Support Team so they can look into this matter more thoroughly. They have the resources needed to start a screen-sharing session, review your account, and investigate the root cause of this problem.
Moreover, you can also make duplicate accounts inactive to remove them from the chart of accounts or merge them into one account, so all the information is transferred from the duplicate to the one you want to maintain.

I have the banking information, but am STILL unable to link the original accounts....it will only add the accounts. Has anyone been able to solve this problem?
Hello Chris,
I appreciate you keeping in touch with us here in the Community space. Allow me to chime in and help you resolve the banking problem in QuickBooks Online.
When linking a bank account in QuickBooks, there's an option to connect to an existing account or create a new one. Select the correct bank showing in the chart of accounts and avoid using the Add new option (see screenshot below).
If the same thing happens, contact our QuickBooks Support Team for further assistance. Our support for Plus, Essentials, and Simple Start is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday) and 6 AM - 3 PM PT (Saturday). For Advanced, any time, any day.
Here's how you can reach them:
If you want to enter older transactions, or if your bank or credit card can't connect to QuickBooks, you can still upload transactions manually. I've attached an article you can visit to learn more about the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Let us know if you have additional questions about bank feed or linking a bank account. We're always here to help. Take care always.
