Reverse a double deposit entry

Deleting a double deposit entry is easy in QuickBooks Online (QBO), and I'm here to show you how, @jnaylor.

Your bank account register gives you the lists of all your past and current transactions associated with it. With this, you'll have to delete a double deposit entry directly from your bank account register to keep your financial data accurate. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Choose the Chart of accounts tab.
  3. Find your bank account. Under the Action column, select View register
  4. Locate and select the deposit you want to delete.
  5. Click Delete.
  6. Select Yes

If you wish to know more about managing transactions in your account registers, you can check out this article: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers.

Once your deposits are categorized, I'd recommend reconciling your account every month. This way, you can keep your financial data updated. For the step-by-step guide, you can refer to this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I'm adding this article for helpful ideas about managing your account and related transactions: Reports and Accounting for QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you have other concerns about managing your deposits and other banking transactions in QBO. I'm just around to help. Take care, and wishing you continued success.
