I have Quickbooks for Mac ver 2021, R10. I'm just getting started.....I've worked with QB before, so not a complete newb. I follow the steps to add my Online Banking, but when I browse to Downloaded Transactions to import my banking statement, QB won't let me select a file and upload it. I've tried using both PDF and CSV. I have Catalina (10.15.7) if that matters...Seems like a pretty simple process. I click Online Banking, a window pops up and I click Setup. I find my financial institution, then login and download a statement. I go to the Downloaded Transactions box and I get the prompt to setup. I cancel that, click on Import, but no love.
Any help is appreciated!

I understand this isn't an easy process for you, @SusCSRA. I'm here to make sure that you can properly import bank transactions into QuickBooks for MAC.
The option to import both pdf and csv file is unavailable using Web Connect. However, if you're using Direct Connect, you no longer need to import bank transactions because QBDT will automatically download them from your bank account.
In addition, you can download transactions from sources other than QuickBooks. Open a browser and navigate to your bank's webpage. Each bank has a different set of instructions for downloading QuickBooks Web Connect files. If you need assistance downloading the .qbo file from their website, I suggest reaching out to your financial institution.
Note: Before going through the steps, I advise backing up your company file. This helps you restore data easily in case you run into problems. After that, you can use this list to isolate the issue:
