The balances didn't go anywhere because they are still located in your bank account register, @sgobeauty. Rest assured that I've got the steps to resolve this.
When going to the account register for the first time, the default view in the Balance column is set to n/a. That's why the balances aren't showing in this column.
There's a button that we'll need to select so your balances will appear again. Just click the Date drop-down under the Filter icon. I've attached two screenshots below to compare the results before and after clicking the Date option.
