Transaction feed appears to be missing transactions for 02/22/23 to 07/21/23 but when attempt to manually import, it says the transactions already exist.

I am attempting to categorize my transactions for 2023 and in the transaction feed, with the filters set to last 12 month, I have a gap of no transactions between 02/22/23 to 07/21/23. I thought it might need to be imported manually so I exported from my online banking and imported the .CSV and I get an error that all the transactions were no imported because they already exist. So why can't I see them in my transaction feed?

I'll share some insights on why some of your bank transactions are missing, and I'll help you upload them into your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account.

It's nice to know that you've filtered out the dates of the transactions to the Last 12 months to easily locate them. You'll also want to ensure that you have applied the correct type and account from the Transactions page. See this screenshot for your reference:

If you can't still see those transactions, let's try locating your missing transactions through an incognito window to confirm if it's a browser-related issue. Here are the shortcut keys to open a private window:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

Once you're in incognito mode, log into your QBSE account and check your Transactions page. If it works using a private window, go back to your regular browser, and clear the cache to improve the program's performance. Otherwise, you can also utilize other supported browsers if this issue persists.

Alternatively, you'll want to import your missing transactions using a different browser or using a private window. Check out this article for detailed steps of the process: Add older bank transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, you'll want to create rules to speed up reviews and help categorise your online transactions quickly. Then, visit this resource to see different information on how QBSE tracks your business income and taxes: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.

I'm always around to assist if you need further assistance managing your bank transactions transactions in QBSE. I’ll be more than happy to work with you again. Goodbye for now, and stay safe!

Thank you for the reply, I was able to solve it myself as I was still getting the error "transactions already in account". I had to force it to import anyway and ignore the message about potential duplicates. When I did this, the transactions did show up so I think the filters were not being very smart during the manual import process.
