I just paid for a very expensive upgrade to Quickbooks 2022 because after just 2 years, I wasn't able to keep using Quickbooks 2019. The upgrade has not been worth it. I'm having a ton of issues that I did not have in Quickbooks 2019 and I'm hoping to get help.
1) When recording online banking transactions, it will auto match and provide an account to record it to, which is fine, but sometimes it is wrong. I update it manually and add them to the register. When I go check the register, it doesn't have the account I entered, it has the account it originally suggested. So then I have to go in and manually edit the account for every single one, despite doing it as a group in the online banking window. This is very frustrating.
2) When trying to record the Payee, it will not autocomplete from the history of Payees/Vendors/Customers, and instead pulls in suggestions from the chart of accounts. So if I start typing "Citibank" it will instead suggest "Computer Hardware" which is not a Payee or Vendor. I
3) Every time I open Quickbooks and connect to a company account, it asks me to log into my Intuit account. No matter how many times I enter my password and say "save" it still forces me to re-enter.
I've tried reinstalling it with no success. Hoping someone has some suggestions, otherwise this was a waste of $300 on a forced upgrade for a product that worked just fine.
We recognize the inconvenience caused by the issue after upgrading your QuickBooks, @eljst. But don't worry, I'm here to help fix your issues and get back to business.
First off, QuickBooks will automatically match bank transactions with the same amount recorded in the system. However, it'll follow the rules you've set up that's why the transaction goes to the wrong account. You'll want to review your bank rules to ensure they'll be categorized to the right account.
Also, when you categorize transactions manually, you should be able to view the account in the register. Since it doesn't show the account, it's possible that the company file had data issues. To verify, let's run the Verify and Rebuild Utility tools. Here's how:
To verify data:
For rebuild data:
On the other hand, QuickBooks will suggest the names, items, or accounts that are already inputted into the system. In this case, you'll want to ignore the suggestion and proceed with creating the Payee.
Lastly, for security reasons, QuickBooks may require you to log in to your Intuit account every time you open your QuickBooks company file. We understand it can be inconvenient, but we take security very seriously when it comes to people's businesses and financial well-being.
Come back to this post and let me know how it goes, @eljst. I want to make sure you're taken care of.

Hey Mark,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that did not help. I did a verify and it said there were no issues found. I did a rebuild anyway and still no help. I also upgraded to the latest release (Quickbooks 2023 V22.0.2 R3) and it still has the same behavior.
I understand how the system SHOULD work. What I'm experiencing is it is only suggesting names from the Chart of Accounts in BOTH the payee and class fields. That's never happened before and should not happen. If it cannot find a name from the Chart of Accounts, it just shows me nothing, so I have no idea if I've entered that vendor before. It's extremely frustrating and time consuming, and my only option is to scroll through a dropdown list and pick one manually.
Also in regards to my first issue, regardless of what rule is set up, if I override that rule and put another account in (Say for a different transaction from the same vendor, for example, Google may be both Software Expense AND advertising), what's happening is it's defaulting back to the rule and overriding the changes I made. That also should not happen.

They range by company but none are larger than 25MB
