Trying to connect credit cards. Won't let me save/close. Says connected but not importing. How do I fix this?

Trying to connect credit cards. Won't let me save/close. Says connected but not importing. How do I fix this?

A warm welcome to the Community, clindecker. I'm here to help share some information regarding connecting your credit cards to QuickBooks.

 

In QuickBooks Online, you can connect more than one credit card account. Before setting them up, I'd suggest checking with your bank first and see how they send the downloaded transactions.

 

If the transactions are downloaded to one account, connect only the parent account. Any other accounts associated with that line of credit should be added as sub-accounts.

Here's how to add a sub-account:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select New to create a new account.
  3. From the ▼ drop-down menu choose an Account Type and select the Detail Type that best fits the types of transactions you want to track. Learn more about detail types.
  4. Give your new account a name. You can use the info under the detail type to add a name that fits.
  5. If you’re adding a sub-account, select Is sub-account and then enter the parent account.

  6. Select Save and Close.
