Undeposited funds subaccounts and Record Deposits

Hi! I'd like to make 3 undeposited funds subaccounts (to record revenue from CASH vs CHECK vs SNAP/EBT) and then be able to accurately record when this money is available in my checking account by "recording deposit" on the correct date.

When I do this (make a subaccount under "undeposited funds" an "other current asset" account, called "Cash"), the subaccounts do not show up when I go to "record deposits". How do I make subaccounts for undeposited funds so that I can find them in the "record deposit" window?

Using QB Desktop.

As I understand it you can not do that, the undeposited funds account is a default and QB will show any others

Yes, there's no way to make your scheme work.

However, I can't think of a reason to mirror the payment types with accounts in this way.

 

Instead of picking an account as you create a deposit, you can view payments by type to find the ones you want to deposit:
