We have a new bank account but our deposits are still trying to deposit to the invalid account. How do i fix this?

We have a new bank account but our deposits are still trying to deposit to the invalid account. How do i fix this?

It's nice to see a new member here in the Community, @klondyke2005. I can assist you with how to update your bank account in QuickBooks Online.

 

Let's update your new account by the heading to the Account and Settings. Follow the steps below:

 

1. Go to the Gear icon then select Accounts and Settings.

2. Click Payments tab.

3. Tick the Pencil icon in the Chart of account section.

4. Update the new account by clicking the dropdown and click Add new.

5. Set the following Account Type and other details needed. 

6. Hit Save and Close.

7. Select Save once done.

 

 

By modifying the transaction in your account register, you can move the deposit to the right account. Here's how to do it:

 

  1. Click Accounting in the left panel and select the Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the wrong account, and click View register.

  1. Select the deposit in question, and click Edit.
  2. Change the posting account, and click Save and Close.
  3. Click Yes.
