I’d love to provide information about the New Sale option showing in your account.
This feature will help you and your clients manage business time. With the New Sale option, you can start accepting payments such as credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers.
To learn more on how the New Sale feature efficiently tracks customer payments, I recommend contacting our Merchant Services Team. You’ll find the contact information through the following link: Which Payments product do you need help with?

Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have questions about working in QBO. I'd be glad to help. Have a great rest of your day.
Why does it only accept card and transfer transactions? Will it be updated to include cash and check transactions soon? Will we be able to limit a user to only the "New Sale" feature? I have given this feedback through QBO, but would love to know if these items are in the works or if I have to purchase a third-party POS.
Hi there, @Snowdenfarm.
Thanks for taking the time to reached out to us. I'm here to help provide some additional information about the New Sale feature.
When using Merchant service, the New Sale feature allows you to accept online payments such as credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers. Since the cash and check transactions are not included in this feature, what you can do is create an Invoice or Sales receipt in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You can check these articles for the detailed steps and to learn more about Invoice and Sales receipt:
I appreciate you for sending feedback which helps our Product Development team decide which feature will be implemented on the next future update. I can see how the feature you're requesting would benefits your business, and I'm also preparing a feedback submission right now.
To provide you further information on how New Sale feature works, you may contact our Merchant Service Team by visiting the article link provided by my colleague on her post above.

I am very familiar with receipts and invoices. You can easily take card and transfer payments with those as well. What is the purpose of a POS within QBO that does not take cash or checks? It would be wonderful to allow an employee ONLY access to the POS/"New Sale" feature.
And is there a plan to include cash and checks in the (hopefully near) future?
Hey there, @Snowdenfarm,
I appreciate your time checking this with the Community. I can add a bit more about the New Sale feature in QuickBooks.
Intuit provides innovative and simplified tools to help our customers complete their tasks efficiently. In addition, QuickBooks Payments is designed solely for electronic payments processing (credit cards, debit cards, and ACH bank transfers), providing flexibility to your customer's purchase experiences.
If you need to record cash and check payments, you'll need to enter it manually inside QuickBooks. Also, being able to add an employee only access to the POS/New Sale feature is a great idea we can add in the program, so I’d recommend sending your suggestion to our engineers. Doing this will let them know what features would help a business like yours run a little better, and they will consider that in a future update.

That should do it, @Snowdenfarm. Please notify me if you have anymore questions about QuickBooks. I'm here to help you anytime.
I sent feedback, but with the limited usefulness of the New Sale option and no plans to make it more robust, I am afraid we are going to have to go with another POS system that does not integrate with QBO. So, after four years with QBD and eight years with QBO, I am going to have to switch to Xero. I am very sad, I love QBO, it just isn't robust enough in itself and does not integrate with the more robust platforms.
