Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

This is still not working!! 3 weeks later. We have work to do, reconciling, end of year reports. PLEASE FIX. WHAT ARE WE PAYING FOR??? Here is the error message. I've tried to re-login to my Fidelity account and it says that my login info is incorrect (fake news...it is 100% correct). Here is the error message I see under bank transactions: If you delete and reconnect, it will only create a new QB account, and won't allow me to merge the 2.

Fidelity has made a change

We can’t bring in data from Fidelity until you update your connection. Disconnect and reconnect your account to resume your connection to QuickBooks. (390)

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

Thoroughly disgusted with the "Customer Care Team" response.  I tried contacting them through the online chat.  The representative exited the chat as soon as I mentioned the Fidelity Investment issue.  With that, I assume there's no resolution yet, but it's a bitter pill to swallow when the "support" we pay for "runs and hides".  Will be looking for another provider.

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

I had a similar experience. I was able to connect Fidelity accounts through the Fidelity Netbenefits website. It is supposed to be for employer sponsored accounts, but it worked for my other accounts as well.

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

Thank you so much.  I tried it and it worked.  WHEW!   I read earlier that someone tried this and initially worked, but then failed like the original connection.  Like everyone else, hoping to get books closed, 1099s and stuff done early.

There's still absolutely no excuse for the customer care rep to just leave the conversation.

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

My issue is that i had already established a link between FID and QB. Now that link is broken. So if i establish a new link, it creates 2 separate QB accounts. The rep tried to merge them with me and we were getting an error message. I can definitely get a new link, but i have hundreds of transactions under the current account. My only option at this point is to manually enter all transactions through 12/31, then re-establish the FID link and start fresh for 2024. The reps are the worst. I feel like they don't know how their software works, then are constantly putting me on hold, they clearly don't have a CRM to look at our previous conversations, etc.

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

I just finished another chat with QB. This is what they told me. Wondering if anyone has received any emails or updates from QB on this matter? Guess I'll wait and see if they actually update us. The link to FID is still broken.

"I believe our System Engineers have sent an email regarding this investigation and for the following updates or progress.
And as per checking on the email, they will be emailing the affected customers on Fri Jan 05 20:00:00 GMT 2024."

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

QB just sent this email out and it doesn't work. They did NOTHING to fix this issue. All they did was send us a list of troubleshooting tips. The connection is still broken:

Dear Valued Customer,

If you’re still seeing an error or aren’t seeing your transactions, we advise you to re authenticate your connection. Please follow these steps to refresh your connection so the impacted account can resume downloading transactions into QuickBooks.

1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
2. Go to Bookkeeping then Transactions then select Bank transactions, or go to Banking.
3. Select Update.
4. If you still see the error, look for a banner on the Banking page. Select Check connections link and follow the steps to fix the issue.
5. When it comes to you selecting the account you want to reconnect, select Fidelity - Investments & Retirement Accounts.

Thank you for using QuickBooks Online.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, cmargerpositionwealth.

It can be disheartening when a solution doesn't work as expected, and I can understand how this may be impacting your workflow. I'm here to help ensure your concern about the Fidelity bank connection is addressed by the appropriate channel.

In situations like this, we'll need to go over the connection between QuickBooks Online (QBO) and your Financial Institution (FI). For security reasons, I still advise contacting our QuickBooks Online (QBO) Care Team for further investigation.

They also have access to tools that can help determine why you're still unable to connect to Fidelity bank. Our specialists will assist you in applying the permanent fix once it becomes available.

To obtain the support details:

  1. Open your company and click the Help icon in the upper right to display the support window.
  2. Choose the Assistant tab and enter a brief description of your concern in the Type something bar. For example, update the employee's information.
  3. Press the Get help from a human link to see more options.
  4. In the How would you like to connect with us? section, choose Chat to initiate a conversation and Callback to speak with an agent.

When you have your online banking connection working back to normal, make sure to classify the downloaded transactions into the correct category. This lets you reconcile the account smoothly.

If you encounter any hurdles with your bank feeds in the future, these resources contain solutions on how to troubleshoot them:

Don't hesitate to let me know if you still have concerns about your bank feed connection and other banking-related concerns. Please know I'm always ready to lend a helping hand, cmargerpositionwealth. Have a good one.

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

You have to go to the bank account and click the pencil icon. Then click the Disconnect upon save and exit button. Then save and exit. This will completely break the link. However, you still have an account in your books you just need to reconnect them. Go the the link account button and follow the on-screen prompts to link the account. It will ask if you want to connect it to an existing account. Make sure you select the account name as it appears in your books. Also, it will ask what date you want to begin importing transactions. Use the first date the connection stopped working. Hope that helps.

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

I have had the same issue. When clicking the pencil to re-establish connection there is an error. They had established a new connection only to find we could not delete the old one so now I have two of the same account. A bigger insult to injury is the new connection I made stopped working after 4 weeks so I have two dead connections....Quickbooks should I start a 3rd? What is the resolution?

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

Hello there, Garrettnp.

I recognize the challenges when reestablishing your bank connectivity in QuickBooks Online. Let's try to update your bank account manually, and ensure that there's no transaction on the For Review page. Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking.
  2. Click Update.
  3. If there's prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials and select Continue update. You must enter these credentials within 2 minutes of being prompted.

If the issue persists, we can disconnect your bank and then reconnect it again. Allow me to guide you on how to do it:

  1. Go to Transactions, then click Bank transactions.
  2. Select the tile for the bank account.
  3. Click the pencil icon, then select Edit account info.
  4. Select the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  5. Click Save and Close.

I'll be including these articles for more details and guidance about managing your accounts in QBO that can be helpful in the future:

Should you need additional assistance in your bank, feel free to include them in the comments below. I'll be around to lend a hand. Stay Safe!

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

@Garrettnp - Try those steps again. That was happening to me up until a few days ago. When i re-established the login (while screen sharing with someone with QB), it reconnected the same account. It didn't create the 2nd account, which is the issue we were all having. You just need to select which dates you want to import from, so I used the date when the link was broken. For me it was 12/12/23. You'll have some clean up to do, but it seems to be working now. Until it won't again. Seems to be a common problem. My Chase CCs also had a similar issue a few weeks ago. Good luck. I would screen share on this though so you can have proof. The individual i was sharing with actually had their support with them walking them through it. Don't go it alone unless you have to. If there are any more issues, then they can also create a ticket for you. Good luck!

Where did the fidelity.com connection go?

We appreciate you for bringing this one to our attention, U2500.

I've checked our records and there's no reported case where customers need to reconnect to Fidelity bank daily to download bank transactions. Did you get any error messages? Any additional information will help me provide the best resolution.

For now, we can sign in to your financial institution's website to check if the issue is on their end. There are times when transactions are stuck in an infinite load if they encounter server issues or have ongoing maintenance. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Bookkeeping menu at the left panel and select Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Choose Link account.
  3. Search for your bank and select it. Then, copy the URL listed for your bank.
  4. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website using the copied URL.

If you can sign in, it's a good sign that there isn't a major issue. Then, check the following:

  • Check your account for messages, notifications, or alerts.
  • Look for any display issues as you navigate the website. These can block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
  • Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

Once everything looks good, access QBO and manually update your bank transactions. This updates all your connected accounts. The number of transactions in each account tile will increase if QuickBooks downloads new transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, and select Transactions.
  2. Choose Bank transactions.
  3. Click Update.

Here is an article you can refer to for the detailed steps: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online. It also contains links to fix specific download errors.

If the same thing happens, please contact our Customer Care Support. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and they also have access to tools that can help determine why you're still unable to connect to Fidelity bank. Our specialists will assist you in applying the permanent fix. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Help button at the top of the page.
  2. Choose the Search tab, then click Contact Us.
  3. Type in your concern, and click Continue.
  4. Under Callback, click Have us call you button. This will route you to enter your details.
  5. After that, select Get a call.
  6. You will now be added to the queue and wait for us to call you.

It is every login. I keep QBO open all day to keep it to daily. After clicking Update, Error msg is Cant find this account. This acct isnt available. If there's a temporary error at your bank it should get fixed soon. Followed by a button reading Reconnect your acct.

The answer is not a resolution. It is copy and paste basic instructions. I have been on Intuit products since the 80s including involved in assisting Intuit with issues. The QBO Fidelity connection became a major issue for many in the last couple months due to Intuit asking everyone to reconnect. So we know, during your changes, the connection suffered.

The new duplicate account should be transactions from when the feed stopped. Then when you merge you should have everything you need.
