I appreciate you taking the time to thoroughly explain your concerns, LevyCPA. Your detailed description is extremely helpful. I'm committed to assisting you in resolving these unexpected charges so you can complete your reconciliation smoothly.
There are two scenarios we can explore to determine these discrepancies. First, since these charges have been cleared but are now showing as uncleared transactions, we can use the Audit Log feature to review if there are any changes made to your account. The feature provides a complete history of transaction changes, which can help identify any unauthorized modifications or discrepancies causing the cleared transactions to be marked as uncleared.
After that, you'll need to manually reconcile these unclear charges to ensure you have accurate financial recordings.
Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Click Chart of Accounts.
- Look for the account you want to review and hit View register.
- Locate the unclear transaction.
- Under the check column, tick the field to adjust the status of the entry as reconciled - R.
- Once done, click Save.
The second one is if any transactions were previously added to your credit card statements without matching them to your existing transactions within the software. If this is the case, you'll need to undo your reconciliation starting today up to the past dates where uncleared transactions occurred.
I've added this resource as a guide to help you ensure the accuracy of your reconciled account: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you need further clarification or information related to this matter. We aim to assist you in any way possible. Thank you for your time.
