Seems like an easy question to me. How can I not have a number defaulted in the check number column? a hassle to have to remember to delete defaulted number each time

Good day, sgobeauty.

The option to turn off the default number in the Check no, field is unavailable. You can either delete the number in the Check no. field, or put a check mark on the Print later box.

I'd also like to share this article that you can bookmark: How to write checks

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I'm just a post away to help you some more. Thanks.

Hello,

The very purpose of the default check # is so that if you are using an actual check, QBO will assign the next check in the sequence that you're using.

If you aren't using physical checks, I recommend entering the transaction as an Expense instead.  It basically does the same thing but there is no check # field.

Expenses are great if you do everything by debit card for example.

I don't understand what you mean by "entering

something as an expense."  I guess I got my

answer that the default cannot be turned off.

What a **feature**
