Setting up direct connect First Horizon

Setting up bank Feeds in Enterprise 2022. Get to the last one First Horizon, Qb gives the message that direct connects not available and I have to manually download the transactions, Go to First Horizons banking portal to download the QBB file, and there's no option to export that file type. Look on first Horizons website, and they say direct connect is available. Even have a detailed setup guide. So what's causing my Enterprise 2022 to not let me enter the username and password for direct connect?

Setting up direct connect First Horizon

Hi, @William Lavasque.

I'm here to help make sure you can set up your bank for Direct Connect in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Since it's showing on your bank's website that Direct Connect is available, you should be able to set it up in QBDT. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate this.

To start, let's run QuickBooks built-in diagnostic and repair tools called rebuild and verify data utilities. These tools will repair and notify you of any possible data damage within the file.

Before we proceed, make sure that your QBDT is updated to its latest release version. Refer to this article for further guidance: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Once done, here's how to run the rebuild and verify data utilities:

  1. Go to File, then select Utilities and Rebuild Data.
  2. Choose OK. Follow the prompts to save a backup.
  3. Click OK once completed.
  4. Now, go back to File, then Utilities, and select Verify Data this time.

If QB detected no problem with your data, hit OK. However, if it finds an issue, you will be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors. Choose Close, then perform the steps below.

Here's how:

  1. Locate and check the QBWin.log or QuickBooks.log files.
  2. Scroll to the bottom for the most recent Verify information.
  3. Find the line that contains the LVL_ERROR, then check Top data damage errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

For additional information about the process, consider checking out this article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

I'm also adding this article that tackles setting up bank account and connect it to Bank Feeds in QBDT: Set up bank accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please leave a comment if you have follow-up questions about this or anything else QuickBooks. I'll be more than willing to help. Keep safe.

Setting up direct connect First Horizon

Unfortunately, this solution didn't resolve the issue for me.  Has anyone else had success using some other solution to connect to First Horizon - TN?

Thank you.

I appreciate you for joining this thread, @ChrisH_pty.

Since the verify and rebuild didn't resolve your issue. Let's run the repair tool for QuickBooks Desktop. This will determine if the issue is within the program.

The first step is to download the QuickBooks Toolhub. Never forget to close QB when using the tool hub. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily locate (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBookToolHub.exe).
  3. There will be an on-screen step to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub when the installation finishes.

After that, run a quick fix for the program. This will turn off any open background processes QuickBooks uses and repair the program. Here's how:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, choose Program Problems.
  2. Pick Quick Fix My Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Feel free to read this article for the detailed steps: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

If the same issue persists, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Desktop support. They can help you look through your account and check the leading cause of the error.

Never hesitate to route back yourself here if you have additional questions bout managing your QBDT account. We'll be happy to lend a hand. Take care.

Setting up direct connect First Horizon

First Horizon has constant and ongoing issues with QB bank sync.  Don't waste your time verifying and rebuilding.  You'll have to export as .qfx and then override the Intuit Bank ID to get your data into QBD.
