Split Sales Receipts and Deposits both add up in Chart of Accounts

I'm pretty new at this and made a mistake when saving sales receipts. I wasn't saving them in UF.
How do I correct all of the seemingly duplicated deposits? Sales receipts and Deposits are being added all up in the Chart of accounts.

Welcome to the Community, @ME308.

Removing the sales receipts that were deposited to the wrong account in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is pretty easy! This can be done by editing the transaction in the register. Refer to these steps on how:

  1. In QBO, go to the Accounting menu at the left pane to get to the Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account they were deposited, then tick View register under Action column.
  3. Select the Sales Receipt in the register, then click Edit to open the transaction.
  4. In the Deposit to drop-down, pick Undeposited Funds.
  5. Hit Save and close to complete the process.

@FritzF The deposited amount in the register looks good. Now I am having difficulty adding the receipts to the deposit without them doubling the deposit again. Should I delete the deposited amount and add the receipts where it says "Add Funds to this Deposit"?

Yes, you are right, ME308.

You can delete the deposited amount and add the receipts to the deposits in the Add Funds to this Deposit section. Doing this will avoid duplicate entry in the register.

To delete a bank deposit, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Accounting on the left side menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the bank account holding the deposit.
  4. Select View register.
  5. Search for the deposit and click on it to get more details.
  6. Hit Delete.
  7. Tap Yes to confirm the changes.

Then, the payments on the deposit will go back to the Bank Deposit window. This way, you have the option to start over and create a brand new deposit.
