Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

I have been using Quickbooks for about 6-7 years now and have upgraded the QB versions 3 times.  I am currently using QB Desktop Priemere 2020 version.

I found out that last week, all my Truist Credit Card's transaction on the bank feed was suddenly being imported in as reversal (credit being debit and debit being credit).  However, my Truist checking account was being imported in correctly!

I have called QB customer service and even the Truist Bank 2 times in two separate days, and have wasted 5 hours trying to resolve this.  I am very proficient with computers and I can fix things by doing my own research.

With the help of the QB technician these are the things that I did:

1.  I unenrolled from all Truist's bank feeds and then re-enrolled. (not resolved)

2.  After unenrolling from Truist's bank feed, I ran "Verify Data" and "Rebuild Data" (not resolved)

3.  After unenrolling from Truist's bank feed, I went into Control Panel and repaired the QB program (basically a reinstall) (not resolved)

4.  After unenrolling from Truist's bank feed, I ran QB File Doctor (not resolved)

According to the Truist customer service, BB&T and Sun Trust were officially fully merged on Feb 21st.  Since then, Truist has asked Intuit to take out BB&T and Sun Trust from the list of QB's online financial institution and replaced it with Truist.  I think this transition for QB happened sometime last week (week of March 14, 2022).  Since then many BB&T and Sun Trust customers have had issues with QB's direct connect bank feeds.

I am typing all this as I am talking with a QB representative for more than 1 hour now.  I don't think it is going to be resolved.  So I am asking the community if they found a solution to this.  What I think is that the setup of Truist financial institution with QB has not been done correctly.

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

Appreciate the details, @moseschi.

I have some information about Truist or BB&T Online Banking error 0 (Transactions are importing in reverse order). I found a similar case reported but the case is already been closed and resolved. With this, all accounts should be working by now.

Since you're done with the basic banking troubleshooting steps, I recommend contacting again our Customer Care Support. I understands that you've been with our phone agents. However, our way of getting this fixed is through creating a ticket for you so we can re-open the case and investigate further.

Here's how to reach out: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.

Just provide this investigation number for easy tracking INV-64734. This way, you'll be notified via email whenever a resolution is available.

I'm also attaching this link about banking in case you need help with other banking-related tasks. It has our general banking topics with articles: Find help with bank feeds and reconciling accounts.

Please know that you're always welcome to reply to this thread if you have follow-up questions or concerns with bank connections. I'm more than happy to answer them for you. Take care and have a good one.

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

Thanks @ShiellaGraceA ,

I have talked to 5 total QB customer service representatives in the span of 1 week and only ONE out of 4 agreed to help me.  The other 4 told me that I do not have a service agreement with QB and asked me to pay upwards of $500+ to have me enroll in a service agreement.  Or the other option was for me to go and purchase the 2022 Quickbooks.

QB techs are blaming the Truist and the Truist service techs are saying that the issue is QB related.

As of now, I finally got a hold of Truist tech who wants me to send them the connlog.txt and ~qbofx32 and ~qbofxod file.  So I sent them that.  I spent a total of around 5 hours on this and I am exhausted.

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

Dealing with a similar issue only on Quickbooks Online.  Since the transition, QBO has imported (or Truist has exported) all deposits from the last twelve months again!  They are now automatically being imported into "Sale of Product Income", which wasn't even utilized in our QB file before this happened.  Now, it has duplicated revenue as well as thrown off the bank balance.  Any ideas on how to correct for QBO?  In the short term, we can correct via journal entries, but wondering if this will be corrected by Truist?

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

Hello there, @pjerome. Thanks for letting us know about your challenges with your previous deposits that were duplicated in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

There's a possibility that there's an ongoing issue on your bank's side. I'd suggest getting in touch with your bank to verify if they have ongoing page maintenance or ongoing issues that are causing the duplicates of your deposits.

You can categorize bank transactions once they're downloaded. This will help you review them to make sure your books are accurate.

Then, to ensure that your bank account balance is accurate concerning your bank statement, feel free to check out this article for the steps: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

If you still have questions or concerns with your duplicated bank deposits, please leave them below. I'll be glad to answer them for you. Have a wonderful day ahead!

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

I am also dealing with the reversal issue. I have also spent numerous hours on the phone with both QB Support as well as Truist Support. Blame shifting.

I am running QB Pro Plus 2022 in windows 11.

Im happy to know there are issues with QB online also as it seems QB support is trying to push me to online.

Win 11 causes enough issues without the Truist issue

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

This issue is still ongoing as of today.  QB support is only interested in selling an upgrade from desktop to online; they said that was the solution.  It must be nice to work for a company that has no competition.

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

Has this problem been solved yet?  I do not want to import credit card transactions because I don't want to have to go back and reverse them all.  We have a lot.  I was told by a Quickbooks rep that this would be resolved by the end of May, but I'm hearing that it has not yet been corrected.  Is that right?

Thanks for joining the thread, @tdenney48.

I've checked our records and found that the investigation about Truist/BB&T, Online Banking Error 0 (Transactions are importing in reverse order) has already been resolved. That said, you can import your credit card transaction to QuickBooks Desktop.

To get started, you'll have to check if your bank changes how they support QuickBooks. Sign in to their website and check your messages. If you see a message about changes, follow the instructions.

Then, check the QBO file you downloaded from your bank. Make sure you've mapped the transactions correctly and import them to QBDT.

Once done, go ahead and review and match your bank feed transactions. This will keep your account accurate and updated. For the step-by-step guide, please see this article: Categorize Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, I'd suggest reconciling your account every month, so they match your bank and credit card statements. For more details, see this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Drop a comment below if you have any other concerns or follow-up questions. We're always here to back you up. Take good care!

Truist Bank Bank Feeds Reversal Issue

until July, the issue was resolved if you paid the Monthly QB fee from Truist (previously you could download for free). It seems you can now download QB transaction files again but i haven't tested (as of today) if you cancel the monthly fee if it reverts back to not being able to download the QB transactions
