Warning: Your last online connection was not completed

Trying to do direct connect with my bank same way as I've been doing for years. Today, after a week out of office, started getting this message popup when trying to do bank feeds:

"Warning: Your last online connection was not completed. Intuit recommends that you do Send/Receive again to complete the previous connection. Click YES to do send/ receive now. Click NO to continue without doing send/ receive."

Pops up over and over after everything I try. Already called bank and they say its not on their end.

Thanks

Warning: Your last online connection was not completed

I appreciate you using QuickBooks for a long time, @Wizard. I've got steps to ensure we can get rid of the prompt when connecting bank feeds.

This pop-up message appears when you download transactions or send payments in the Bank Feeds Center. Before proceeding to troubleshoot, I recommend backing up your QuickBooks Desktop company file. This will help you save a copy of your accounting data for future use.

Since you've already contacted your bank to verify their status, let's find out which payments are stuck by  switch to register (classic) mode, if required.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking.
  2. Select Bank Feeds then select Bank Feeds Center.
  3. From the Bank Accounts list, choose the account with stuck transactions.
  4. In the Send items to your bank section, uncheck all online checks and bill payments to be sent.
  5. Select the first payment, then select Send Items.
  6. Repeat step 5 for each online payment until the stuck transaction is found.
  7. When you've identified the stuck online payment, continue to clear stuck online transactions.

After that, follow the steps below to successfully clear the transaction:

  1. Hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard and select Send/Receive or Sync Accounts..
  2. Continue to hold the Ctrl key through the entire Online Banking session, except when you need to enter your user ID, password, or PIN.
  3. The message "Your last online connection was not completed. QuickBooks Desktop is having a problem recovering from this condition" appears.
  4. Continue to hold the Ctrl key and select OK.
  5. The message "Do you wish to resend this request again to your financial institution, do it only after speaking to the Online Banking Technical Support." appears.
  6. Continue to hold the Ctrl key while you select OK.

If the payments show as paid at your bank, and are listed in the queue, proceed to Solution 2 on this article: Error OL-200, OL-202, OL-206, or OL-226: Your last online connection was not completed.

Please let me know how it goes by commenting below. I'd appreciate any response and I'm always here if you need more help. Stay safe.

Warning: Your last online connection was not completed

Came back after a few more days away and the warning popup has seemed to have resolved itself. Everything working again. Who knows. Thank you for the reply, I will save it for when/if it happens again.

Hello, DebbyOD.

I understand you're wondering why that behavior occurred, and I'm here to shed some light. One of the possible reasons due to data integrity issues. We can verify and rebuild your data file. But before doing so, we need to ensure your QuickBooks is up-to-date so you have the latest features and product improvements.

Then, you may follow these steps:

  1. Under the File menu, select Utilities and then click Verify Data.
  2. If no error message is displayed after verifying the data, then there is no need to run the rebuild tool, as the company file is already error-free.
  3. If an error message "Your data has lost integrity" appears, it means your data file is damaged and must be repaired.
  4. Now under the File menu, select Utilities and click Rebuild Data.
  5. Click OK on the backup company file popup window.
  6. Choose a location on your computer to save the backup of your company file and click OK.
  7. The data rebuild process will start automatically once the backup file is successfully saved on your desktop.
  8. Then Rebuild has Completed message appears on the screen hit OK.
  9. If no errors are detected after running the Verify data tool, you can restore your company file's backup by selecting the Backup option from under the File menu.

Make sure to rerun the Verify Data Utility to ensure that your data is repaired and no errors are left. You can also check the detailed steps here for more info on how to use this tool: Resolving Potential Data Issues.

I'm always ready to back you up if you have other concerns. Feel free to leave a reply below to notify me of your response. Take care.

I have no transactions listed to sync/clear, but still getting the message. Any other suggestions for how to clear the error?  I'm thinking I'll start importing .QBO files instead of connecting since it's less error prone.  But I don't think I can disconnect and reset up with this continued error.  Please advise.

Still getting this error message.  Desktop Pro 2021 user, no Data Integrity problems, no transactions listed to send/receive.  I may have to switch to loading .QBO files manually since the bank connection seems to no longer be an option, but I need to clear this error before editing the account banking method.  Please advise!
