Short answer is that you can not enter any transaction that occurred before you started the file.

But if you want to try, get a .qbo file from the bank and try importing it

If you're interested in importing the older transactions, allow me to show how to do this in the steps below. 

 

To download transactions from your bank:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Follow your bank’s instructions for how to download transactions to your computer.
  3. You'll want to ensure the date range is correct. 
  4. Download your transactions. Please save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your desktop.

After you've downloaded the file from your bank's website, you're ready to upload them in QuickBooks Online. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu. Then go to the Banking tab.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions to.
  3. Hit the Update dropdown menu, then File upload.
