When trying to import data from my bank, the csv file puts the expenses and deposits in the same column in quickbooks. I cannot modify the csv file. How do I fix this?

I tried to change the amount column in the csv file, but then it won't let me save it as a csv file. I can only save it as an excel file or google sheets file. Quickbooks won't import those type of files.

I can help you those bank transactions to your QuickBooks Online account, @emsprofessionals

To help you edit those amounts and save that file as a CSV (comma-separated values) file, I suggest you find an Excel software or contact an IT person to help you save the edited file as one.

You can choose to have it in either a 3 column format or a 4 column format. You can refer to the screenshot below:

Check this article for more information: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks

Check this article for more information: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. From here, you can now categorize  and then reconcile the transactions.

Let me know if there’s anything else that I can assist about your bank transactions by leaving a comment below. I’m always here to assist. Have a wonderful day!
