While entering a Deposit, QBO crashes after several entries and all data is lost. Why? Is there an item limit on a deposit? What can I do to prevent it?

It crashed after 10 items were entered.

While entering a Deposit, QBO crashes after several entries and all data is lost. Why? Is there an item limit on a deposit? What can I do to prevent it?

Hello there, Newton. Let me guide you over some troubleshooting steps to prevent your QuickBooks Online (QBO) from crashing.

Please know there's no limit on the line items you enter when recording a bank deposit in QBO. Since you're experiencing issues, let's troubleshoot your browser to clear the corrupted cache that causes the crash. Before doing so, ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

First, open your account in an incognito window. You may refer to the keyboard shortcuts below.

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

Then, make a bank deposit again. Once resolved, return to your original browser to clear its cache or utilize another compatible one. It's possible that there's a temporary issue between QBO and the window you're using.

Moreover, it's advisable to reconcile your accounts in QBO to ensure they line up with your bank statements.
