Why are my bank transactions not updated nightly?
Let's isolate the issue you had with your bank transactions not updating to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @CHARLENECooper1.
Once your bank account is connected, QuickBooks automatically downloads your transaction. Since the bank does not update accordingly, there are several reasons why this occurs:
Usually, updating the bank manually by clicking on the Update button should fix the issue. This will download the missing entries from your bank.
I also suggest to sign in to your bank's website to check for notifications that need attention or review any ongoing maintenance. If you're getting the same result, you can follow the next solutions provided in this link to isolate the issue: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.
In the meantime, you may utilize the web connect feature by bringing your bank entries to QBO manually. For detailed steps, please see this article: Manually import your bank transactions.
Once done, you're now ready to match and categorize your transactions. In case you find duplicate records, you can always exclude them from the For Review section.
Keep us updated if you have other questions about connecting your bank with QuickBooks or any banking concerns. This way, we'll be able to assist you.
Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser.
Hi, @CHARLENECooper1.
Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about updating the bank concern you had the other day. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at anytime.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
This is in QBO. Please let me know if this is the incorrect forum for that product.
The whole point of connecting my accounts is to have them populate transactions automatically. My previous bank, Union Bank, would post new transactions automatically. If they were more than 12 hours old, I could click on Update and get the latest information but in no case was it more than 24 hours between automatic updates.
Since US Bank took over, I now have new accounts which are connected (correctly) to QBO however they NEVER update automatically. I must click Update to get any information. To be sure, I have left it alone for over week and still no change. ALL OF MY OTHER CARDS AND ACCOUNTS update automatically but the two US Bank accounts do not.
I am beyond frustrated at the finger-pointing between Intuit and US Bank. They each blame the other.
I understand the frustration this may have caused you, @justcallbenmail. Allow me to route you to the appropriate support to ensure your transactions will be downloaded.
Once you connect your bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO), it will automatically download the transactions. However, since the transactions aren't going in, you may need to check with your bank to verify if there is an issue on their end.
Furthermore, I've also added this article to help you learn what to do if you see error messages or don't see recently downloaded bank transactions: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions into QuickBooks Online.
In the meantime, you can consider manually uploading your transactions.
Additionally, you can also review and update bank transactions in the QuickBooks Online app.
Once everything is good and transactions are all in, you can categorize your online bank transactions in QBO.
