Why are my transactions/transfer canceling one another out?

I can help with your transfer transactions concern, carolyn27.

Beforehand, could you clarify if the cancellation is due to a match? Any additional information or screenshots would aid in resolving the issue. Also, please provide details on how you transferred the money.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can categorize and match transfers after downloading transactions from both accounts.

First, record the transaction as a transfer from one account:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the bank account where the transfer funds are coming from.
  3. Find and select the transaction.
  4. Click Record as a transfer.
  5. From the Transferred to drop-down arrow, select the account where you transferred the funds.
  6. Hit Record transfer.

Then, match the transaction from the other account:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Click the For Review tab. Then, select the Recognized filter from the drop-down arrow.
  3. Find the transaction.
  4. From the Action column, select Match so the transaction is matched in both accounts.

However, if you're referring to something else, I suggest adding a comment below to address your concern.

For more information about transferring funds, here's a great resource that you can visit:

You can check this article to see the steps for making changes to transactions under the Bank register: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers.

Let me know if you have further questions about the information above. I'd be more than happy to answer it for you. Have a nice day.
